Our very own Otis turned on Frome's Christmas Lights this year! He was invited by the Mayor to turn on the Christmas lights in the town centre. Some of this friends from school were in the audience and able to see him do so.
Otis met Councillor Philip at an event and started chatting to him about plastic and the impact on wildlife; he suggested we ban plastic bags in Frome. Philip asked him to write a letter and drop it in the town all. Following this, Philip invited Otis in for a meeting at the Town Hall to talk about how they can make this happen. I thought this would be really positive to share with the children - to understand that they have a voice and can (hopefully) make things happen and instigate changes.
